Mike/Jen Stone/Mr. Chalk
If you're wondering what (most of) these mooks look like in color, click their pictures for color jobs courtesy of the uber-talented Elevenbane, AKA Mari Rose, site here. These were done independently, so I might picture them slightly different, but they should give you a fair idea. So go on. Have fun. Ya mooks.

Mike
|
|
Mike was very sure of himself once, and not without reason. Intelligent and charismatic, he had made it his mission to discover just what it was that strange girl in the heavy coat was hiding. He charmed his way into Sandra's life, lying a little, misleading a smidge. To him it wasn't much more than a diversion, a game to play. Though his actions were never really mean-spirited so much as insensitive, that was enough to ensure that when his motives were exposed it created a serious gap between them, especially since Sandra had begun to develop genuine feelings for him. And for Mike's part, what he glimpsed in Sandra has chastened and haunted him, ironically creating a real fascination in place of idle curiosity. Their relationship is, to put it simply, complex.
Goal in life: To resolve the strangeness which currently plagues him and once more understand the world he's in.

Jen Stone
|
| A wanderer in the Zebraverse, Jen's life was changed or, more accurately, defined by her encounter with Sandra, the "Miscellaneous Devil." Consumed with a need for what is beyond the ordinary, she seeks out and interacts with the mysteries of the world, determined not only to acknowledge their existence but to have them acknowledge her. Equipped with a mildly magical video camera, a cool and confident demeanor, a few tricks up one sleeve and a nasty scar up the other, she has abandoned casual society to walk with monsters. She provides a valuable service by being one of the few humans willing to treat the inhuman like people, a respite from loneliness for the rarest breeds. They talk to her. She listens. She moves on. She is Jen Stone, Mystery Hunter.
Goal in life: Hunting mystery, obviously.

"Yesterday upon the stair
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today
I wish that man would go away."
